Ed and Annabel
After exploring adoption, Ed and Annabel opened their hearts and home to a sibling group of three.

Meet Ed and Annabel, who adopted three siblings.
After attending information events, Ed and Annabel realised they were open to adopting siblings. Initially, they considered welcoming two children, but two soon became three. In 2024, they were matched with biological siblings Lillia, Callie and Kai, then aged five, four and two.
They still remember meeting their children for the first time – sitting in a room with the children who would become their family felt surreal.
One particularly powerful family moment came when the children were christened. Standing alongside the children’s godparents, their wider family and close friends made the day especially meaningful. Their support network has played an essential role in raising the children, and the couple feel deeply grateful for the people who have surrounded their family.
Becoming first-time parents to three children has not always been easy. Ed and Annabel are honest that family life has brought challenges, but that they felt prepared and supported. They have watched the children flourish and have learnt that seemingly small moments can represent some of the family’s greatest breakthroughs.
Ed and Annabel describe their adoption experience as a journey that expanded their capacity for love beyond anything they had imagined.
“We feel so blessed that we were able to adopt our children together at the same time. The children have flourished so much, and the little moments are some of the biggest breakthroughs.
If you’re thinking about adoption, speak to people who have gone through it and find out their story – if you want a family, you’ve got to grab it by the horns and embrace the journey.”
